Funzin Recognized as Top 100 AI Company for Sixth Consecutive Year on the Strength of Defense Vertical AI

Funzin announced on the 28th that it has been selected as one of the “2026 Emerging AI+X Top 100” companies by the Korea Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, marking its sixth consecutive year on the list.

The Emerging AI+X Top 100 recognizes promising companies that are creating new markets through the convergence of artificial intelligence with industries such as defense, security, manufacturing, and mobility. In this year’s selection, Funzin was named in the AI Development Environment category.

Funzin’s sixth consecutive selection was largely attributed to its continued leadership in autonomous driving and mobility AI based on ICT and AIoT technologies, even prior to its recent achievements in defense AI. The company was first selected for the Emerging AI+X Top 100 based on its business performance in autonomous driving and intelligent control technologies. Since then, Funzin has participated in CES for five consecutive years, showcasing its technological competitiveness on the global stage.

Building on the AIoT, communications, data, and edge AI technologies accumulated through these efforts, Funzin is expanding into the defense sector, pursuing an omnidirectional AI industry strategy and a performance-driven growth model not confined to a single industry. Last year, the company conducted its first AI combat staff experiment since its founding, demonstrating the potential application of its AI command and decision-support system, KWM.

In addition, Funzin’s AI synthetic data generation platform, “EagleEye,” became the first and only defense AI software platform to receive DQ Mark certification from the Defense Technology Quality Agency. This certification is regarded as validation of the platform’s applicability in real battlefield and operational environments.

Funzin is currently seeking to expand beyond autonomous driving and defense into the security and public safety sectors, with a focus on edge on-device AI and few-shot and zero-shot learning-based technologies. At the same time, the company aims to establish a foundation for full-scale expansion into overseas markets. Funzin believes that AI technologies validated in defense environments can be effectively applied to security and global public safety markets, and plans to broaden its business scope through phased demonstrations and strategic partnerships.

“The sixth consecutive selection as an Emerging AI+X Top 100 company reflects the market competitiveness of Funzin’s strategy of developing AI that works in real-world environments,” said Kim Deuk-hwa, CEO of Funzin. “We will continue to evolve into a vertical AI company that extends beyond defense into security and global markets, based on our core autonomous driving and mobility AI technologies.”
