Choi Hyung-joon, Director at IntelliVIX, Receives Ministerial Commendation for AI Technology Self-Reliance and Youth Talent Development

IntelliVIX (CEOs Choi Eun-soo and Jang Jung-hoon), a video analysis AI company, announced that Choi Hyung-joon, Director of its AMS Data Team, received a Commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT at the 26th Software Industry Day ceremony held on the 2nd.

The commendation recognizes Choi’s contributions to advancing domestic video monitoring technology and reducing reliance on foreign software by leading the development of Gen AMS, a Generative AI-based integrated monitoring platform.

By integrating deep learning-based object detection, Vision Language Model (VLM)-based event analysis, and natural language-based automated report generation into a single platform, Choi transformed conventional passive monitoring systems into intelligent monitoring systems. As a result, various abnormal situations—such as loitering, falls, and wrong-way driving—are automatically detected and linked with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), significantly accelerating response times for monitoring personnel.

In particular, the platform’s localization capabilities were highly evaluated. While the domestic market has traditionally depended heavily on foreign VMS and analytics solutions, Choi secured both technical and operational independence by developing a platform equipped with a Korean-language user interface and region-specific event configuration functions.

In addition, Choi was recognized for his contributions to nurturing young talent by leading IntelliVIX’s in-house AI development organization. Through hands-on mentoring, he supported the professional growth of junior developers and helped internalize core technical capabilities, contributing to alleviating workforce shortages in the software industry.
