Virnect Enhances On-Site Response Through Body Cam and Crowd Density Analysis at Songdo Beer Festival

VIRNECT, an industrial XR and AI company, participated as a sponsor of the “Songdo Beer Festival 2025” and successfully demonstrated its safety management system “VIRNECT Remote,” body cameras, and crowd density analysis features.

VIRNECT took part not only in technical demonstrations but also in actual security operations, supporting on-site teams to enhance responsiveness and efficiency in record management.

Songdo Beer Festival 2025, the representative summer event of Songdo, Incheon, concluded successfully after a nine-day run from August 22 to 30.
The annual festival draws massive crowds each year, and this time, a safety management system integrating wearable devices and a central control center was deployed to ensure visitor safety.

This year’s event introduced advanced security technologies for large-scale crowd management.
As a sponsor, VIRNECT applied its VIRNECT Remote system, body cameras, and crowd density analysis solutions to field operations.
These tools enabled the early detection of unexpected congestion areas, allowing for immediate deployment and relocation of security personnel.
Despite hundreds of thousands of attendees throughout the festival, no safety incidents occurred, and the recorded data will be used to develop future safety guidelines for large-scale events.

Video footage from body cameras worn by security personnel was aggregated in real time through the VIRNECT Remote system.
In the event of an unexpected situation, live footage was transmitted instantly to the central control center, enabling real-time situational response and post-incident review.
This enhanced on-site command efficiency and provided solid, time-stamped evidence beyond simple video records.

The remote system recorded not only live streams but also environmental and operational data across the field.
This information will serve as key evidence in case of incidents, as well as a resource for improving future festival safety manuals and establishing response guidelines for large-scale gatherings.

Camera feeds from key areas were analyzed in real time to detect congestion points early.
In particular, there were cases where crowd buildup was detected in unexpected zones outside the main performance hours, prompting the immediate redeployment of staff and public announcements to prevent potential risks such as crowd crushes or accidents.

Some operational personnel were equipped with VisionX, allowing them to access information hands-free via voice commands, further improving on-site responsiveness.
Originally developed for industrial environments, VisionX proved its practicality in event safety operations, demonstrating its potential as an auxiliary device for field use.

An ice cream robot and an XR experience zone were also operated at the venue, giving visitors unique experiences and providing VIRNECT with an opportunity to test robotic service stability in a multi-crowd environment beyond simple exhibition scenarios.

A VIRNECT official stated,

“The Songdo Beer Festival gathers massive crowds each year, so safety management was the top priority. VIRNECT enhanced on-site responsiveness through body cameras and density analysis functions, and the collected data will be utilized in future safety manuals.”

Kim Jong-chun, CEO of Gyeongin Broadcasting, added,

“We confirmed that the advanced safety management technologies introduced at this year’s festival were highly effective in the field. VIRNECT’s contribution to ensuring public safety was very meaningful for us as the organizer.”

Meanwhile, VIRNECT demonstrated that its crowd safety management solutions can operate effectively even at large-scale festivals.
The company plans to expand these applications to public safety and municipal events, building on the technologies that have already proven successful in industrial environments.
