CUDO COMMUNICATION has been awarded the “Incheon Port Anti-Drone and Integrated Control Equipment Construction Project.”

Incheon Port, the national logistics hub, strengthens airspace security with AI-based defense system

CUDO COMMUNICATION, a company specializing in AI-based security solutions, announced on the 21st that it has been awarded the Incheon Port Anti-Drone and Integrated Control Equipment Purchase and Installation Project, promoted by the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries and the Incheon Port Authority.

The project, valued at ₩5.8 billion, is scheduled to begin in August 2025 and will operate for approximately eight months starting in April 2026. CUDO COMMUNICATION will establish an advanced anti-drone defense system designed to detect, identify, and neutralize unauthorized drone intrusions across Incheon Port in real time.

The system will be equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including:

  • Drone detection radar

  • EO/IR (Electro-Optical and Infrared) cameras

  • RF (Radio Frequency) scanners

  • Jammers (radio interference devices)

These components will enable early detection of unauthorized drones and support rapid countermeasures such as blocking radio communication or taking remote control of the device (soft kill), depending on the situation.

With this initiative, Incheon Port aims to set a new standard for port security capable of responding promptly to threats such as drone-based terrorism, illegal filming, and espionage.

According to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Act revised in July 2024, drone operations within port facility airspace are generally prohibited. Flights are allowed only with prior approval from the facility’s security manager, and unauthorized flights may be subject to fines of up to ₩10 million.

By integrating AI-based detection and response technologies with these regulatory measures, the new system by CUDO COMMUNICATION is expected to significantly enhance Incheon Port’s overall security level.

A CUDO COMMUNICATION official stated, “We will continue to contribute to public safety and the protection of national infrastructure through advanced AI-based security and control technologies.” The company has also accumulated substantial technical expertise through multiple projects involving the establishment and enhancement of port integrated monitoring systems under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Building on this experience, CUDO COMMUNICATION plans to provide an optimized solution that ensures both real-time responsiveness and operational stability.
