Virnect Co-Hosts ‘AI-Digital Twin-Based Defense Strategy Forum

Virnect, a company specializing in AI, digital twin, and XR, will co-host the “AI and Digital Twin Strategy Forum for Defense Technology Innovation” to be held in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province on July 16. The event will take place in the international conference room of the Gyeongnam Techno Park Science and Technology Promotion Center and will serve as a venue to explore digital transformation and technological innovation in the defense sector.

The forum will be hosted by Gyeongnam Techno Park and the Gyeongnam Defense Venture Center, affiliated with the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, with Virnect, EAT, and KS Industries participating as co-hosts. The latest technology trends and demonstration cases will be shared broadly with defense industry officials and related companies.

The opening speech will be delivered by Noh Dong-woo, head of Gyeongnam Techno Park, followed by a welcoming address from Kim Kyung-hwan, head of the Gyeongnam Defense Venture Center. In the keynote speech, Cha Do-wan, a professor at the National Defense University, will present a paradigm of future battlefields shaped by technology under the theme of “War and AI, Robots.”

In the technology presentation session, Ha Tae-jin, CEO of Virnect, will present “Real-time Battlefield Visualization through AI Goggles,” and Ahn Kun-mo, head of department, will present “Exhibition, Mandatory Training, and Complex Disaster Response Cases Using Smart Goggles,” introducing practical field use cases.

The forum, as part of public-private cooperation to incorporate AI and digital twin technologies into defense, is regarded as a symbolic example of the accelerating digital transformation in the defense sector.

Virnect plans to further expand AI and digital twin-based demonstrations across various areas, including defense training, actual operations, and disaster response.
