Virnect Shares Smart Device-Based Industrial Innovation Strategy at the National Assembly
Virnect announced on the 18th that it attended the “AI-based XR New Industry Development Strategy Debate” held at the National Assembly on the 16th and shared AI+XR convergence technology and smart device-based industrial innovation strategies applicable to high value-added industries such as semiconductors and displays.
The forum was co-hosted by National Assemblyman Kim Kyo-heung (Seogu-gap, Incheon; Small and Medium Venture Business Committee of Trade, Industry and Energy) and National Assemblyman Kim Yoon-deok (Jeonju-gap; Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee), together with the Korea Electronics and Communications Industry Promotion Association and the Korea Metaverse Content Association. The event focused on global XR strategies and policy support measures through the convergence of K-devices, K-AI, and K-content.
Professor Kim Do-kyun of the AI Research Center at Samsung Seoul Hospital delivered a keynote presentation on “The Future of New Technology Convergence Contents and Device Convergence Led by AI Technology – Global XR/Metaverse Strategy and Korea’s Response.” Virnect, along with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Lotte Hotel, Penesia, and JGB Public, joined the discussion to continue field-oriented and practical dialogue.
Virnect introduced XR technology strategies aimed at enhancing information accessibility and work efficiency in high-risk industrial environments, with a focus on its AI-based smart glasses VisionX. VisionX is an industry-specific device that integrates voice command-based XR work instructions, real-time remote collaboration, AI-based interactive information search, and a wearable design optimized for industrial environments.
“The global XR industry is a key industry for the future, growing at an annual rate of 39.7%,” said lawmaker Kim Kyo-heung. “However, policy synergy has been limited due to fragmentation between ministries.” He proposed establishing a “New Technology Convergence Committee” under the Prime Minister’s Office to lead policy coordination and regulatory improvement.
Lawmaker Kim added, “Korea is a country with both world-class device technology and K-content. By combining the two, we can foster world-leading companies that drive the global XR market.”
A Virnect official said, “This forum served as an opportunity to discuss how technologies and policies can be applied in practice through collaboration between government, industry, and content. We will continue to lead the digital transformation of high value-added industries based on industrial device platforms that combine AI, XR, and content technologies.”
