ThinkForBL Launches First Private Certified Qualification Course on ‘AI Reliability’ Verification Technology
ThinkForBL (hereinafter referred to as “the company”), a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) reliability technology, conducted training on AI reliability verification for students majoring in IT convergence and communication engineering at the National Military University from the 25th to the 27th. The program was a comparative course organized by the ICT Specialized Employment-Linked Project Group of the National Military University, supported by Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Jeonbuk Techno Park, with the company in charge of delivering the training.
During the course, students engaged in lectures, discussions, and practical exercises, including the design of diverse and biased diagnostic scenarios required for AI data utilization in the agricultural and life science sectors. The curriculum also covered an introduction to the development of “reliable AI” and practical methods for applying relevant processes. On the final day, a qualification exam was administered to students.
Students who meet the required standards will be certified as second-class Industrial Artificial Intelligence Data Verification Experts, awarded by the Korea Association for Industrial Intelligence (KOIIA). This differs from the AI Reliability Verification Expert qualification that the company has been preparing since last year. The new qualification focuses on data balance techniques, one of the core technologies in AI reliability verification. KOIIA officially registered the qualification with the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Competency Development in February.
The company and the National Military University emphasized the significance of creating a curriculum that leads to accredited qualifications recognized by an institution under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The company has been running a similar course at the university since 2020 and issued trial certificates last year, but the lack of official accreditation limited their value to students and industry.
The National Military University noted, “By enabling students to acquire qualifications after learning AI-related skills, they will gain a stronger understanding of practical fieldwork.”
KOIIA plans to expand industry demand and foster professional training by including the recruitment of certified Industrial Artificial Intelligence Data Verification Experts as a potential condition for certification of digital transformation (DX) enterprises under the Industrial Digital Transformation Promotion Act.
Expectations are also growing that the qualification will benefit job seekers from regional universities who face difficulties in finding employment. The company emphasized, “AI reliability is a new field where local graduates can compete on more equal terms with those from metropolitan universities.”
Interest in AI reliability training is also rising abroad. Since last year, the Thai government has been preparing to establish a related academy, while Uzbekistan is actively considering setting up a government-supported academy. In this context, the company believes that activating related education in Korea will help train AI reliability professionals and expand global growth opportunities in this field.
Park Ji-hwan, CEO of ThinkForBL, said, “AI reliability experts are emerging as promising new jobs at a time when the employment crisis for traditional software developers is becoming more evident, especially with the rise of AI-driven code generation tools. It is significant that the qualification process for data-handling experts was first launched at the National Military University.” He added, “We plan to accelerate professional training by registering AI reliability experts as official private qualifications in the second half of this year.”
