Funzin Chosen for ‘Innovation Premier 1000’… The Only AI Company Among High-Tech Defense Sectors
[News Today = Reporter Kim Han-kyung] Defense AI company Funzin announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the “Innovation Premier 1000,” organized by the government and the Financial Services Commission.
“Innovation Premier 1000” is a program in which 13 ministries, including the Financial Services Commission, jointly select 509 small and medium-sized companies with strong innovation and growth potential, and provide customized financial and non-financial support.
Following its selection last year by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration as one of the “100 Defense Innovation Companies,” Funzin has once again been recognized for its AI technology, becoming the only company in the AI field among advanced defense sectors to achieve this distinction.
In particular, Funzin was highly evaluated for continuing the development of its core AI solution “Kill-Web Matching” by introducing “KWM-Ocelot,” an AI-based electromagnetic spectrum analysis system, at the “2025 International Artificial Intelligence Competition (AI EXPO KOREA).”
“KWM-Ocelot” was also submitted to the 2025 Army Idea Contest, where it received the Grand Prize, the “Army Chief of Staff Award.”
In addition, the company’s proprietary synthetic data technology — which can generate realistic, high-quality data from only textual information — was recognized as valuable. This technology is seen as particularly effective in environments where it is difficult to secure actual military data, making it suitable for battlefield scenario-based AI training and validation.
“With our selection for the ‘Innovation Premier 1000,’ we expect to accelerate growth in multiple areas, including expanding investor networks, entering overseas markets, and strengthening IR capabilities,” said Kim Deuk-hwa, CEO of Funzin.
Companies chosen for the “Innovation Premier 1000” will receive special benefits from participating ministries, such as support from policy financial institutions, an Innovation Premier Certification, additional R&D opportunities, public relations support, as well as non-financial assistance including investor networking, overseas market development, and management consulting.
