Nable and Virnect Team Up to Drive Industrial Digital Transformation with XR and 5G AI
Nable (CEO Jo Jong-hwa) has entered into a strategic partnership with XR technology specialist Virnect (CEO Ha Tae-jin) and announced on the 9th that they will jointly launch a full-scale XR-AI convergence business based on 5G specialized networks.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 8th, agreeing to cooperate in the commercialization of joint technologies and the expansion of markets to promote digital transformation at industrial sites.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jo Jong-hwa, CEO of Nable, and Ha Tae-jin, CEO of Virnect. Under the agreement, Nable will prioritize applying Virnect’s XR and AI solutions to the Ieum 5G infrastructure it is building—a private 5G network designed for limited areas such as buildings or factories—and offer these solutions in a form optimized for the domestic market.
Both companies plan to focus on delivering tangible results through joint research and business development across various industries that require XR and AI technologies.
Nable, the first SME selected by the Ministry of Science and ICT as a 5G specialized network operator, has been constructing customized 5G infrastructure for key industrial sites such as airport railways and smart factories.
Through this partnership, high-value-added application services such as XR-based remote collaboration, immersive education and training systems, and AR content for industrial use are expected to be widely introduced.
Virnect, founded in 2016, is a specialist in XR technology and offers proprietary solutions including “Virnect Remote,” an industrial AR remote collaboration platform, and “Studio,” a content creation tool. The company has secured more than 180 domestic and global customers in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, and construction, and is actively developing real-time object recognition and work support solutions by integrating AI.
Jo Jong-hwa, CEO of Nable, stated that this agreement goes beyond a technical partnership and holds strategic significance in jointly establishing an ecosystem for industrial digital transformation based on 5G.
He emphasized that the companies will combine their technological strengths and field networks to accelerate the commercialization of XR-AI convergence technologies.
Nable and Virnect plan to use Nable’s existing industry-specific network-based sites as verification platforms to test the effectiveness of XR solutions and co-develop customized service models. They also aim to secure global references and expand into overseas markets.
