We Will Clearly Transform into a Product-Focused Company and Target Global Markets
“2026 will mark the first year of our clear transformation into a product-focused company.”
Ahn Dong-wook, Chairman of Miso Information Technology, a Korea-based data platform company, has made it clear that the company will shift its business structure toward a product-oriented model and actively pursue global markets, with 2026 positioned as the starting point of that transformation.
In a recent interview, Chairman Ahn said, “Many still recognize Miso Information Technology as a system integration (SI) company. However, since last year—and with continued investment in R&D this year—we have been steadily growing our product business.” He added that the company plans to expand an ecosystem in which it provides packaged licenses while partners carry out implementation projects. According to Ahn, this structural shift is essential for sustainable growth and for achieving positive evaluations in a future IPO aimed at global markets.
“Only by becoming a product-oriented company can we improve our profit structure and achieve scalable revenue growth,” Ahn said. “Targeting global markets also requires this transition.” He noted that while the company’s revenue increased by approximately ₩10 billion year-on-year last year, its workforce remained unchanged. “This shows that manpower-dependent business models are reaching their limits, and their relevance will continue to decline,” he added.
Miso Information Technology has been focusing on its SmartBIG platform, which supports enterprises in analyzing both structured and unstructured data. A key differentiator of the platform is its ability to handle multimodal data, including video, audio, IoT data, and large volumes of documents. Chairman Ahn explained that following the emergence of ChatGPT, interest in AI has surged, and the importance of multimodal data has grown accordingly, becoming a major growth driver for the company.
“In the past, business intelligence (BI) was largely based on data from ERP systems and data warehouses,” he said. “Today, there is growing demand to apply AI directly at worksites, where data exists in many forms—video, sound, IoT signals, and documents. The challenge is to turn this data into usable knowledge, and SmartBIG is designed to collect and support the use of such data for AI.”
The company also offers ACTIC, an LLMOps solution that enables enterprises to automate tasks using large language models (LLMs). ACTIC provides a one-stop environment covering the full lifecycle of generative AI services, from development to operation. In addition, Smart MDQ (Miso Data Quality) is a specialized solution that automatically diagnoses and improves data quality—an essential factor in AI model training—through data standardization, consistency verification, and error detection, helping to establish a reliable AI data ecosystem.
“ACTIC enables an automated operational environment without requiring complex development,” Ahn said. “We are already developing internal services using ACTIC, such as bid information services, and we plan to support external companies in building small but practical services on top of the platform.”
While Miso Information Technology has traditionally focused on the healthcare sector with solutions such as SmartBIG and ACTIC, the company is accelerating its expansion into a wider range of industries starting this year, with a particular focus on manufacturing.
“Over the past two years, we have built a manufacturing-focused business organization centered on R&D and developed solutions integrated with physical AI,” Ahn said. “Manufacturing requires not only LLMs but also a wide range of existing machine learning technologies. To effectively combine LLMs with on-site data, domain expertise is essential. By organizing teams around professionals with field experience, we expect meaningful results in manufacturing starting in 2026.”
He added that the company plans to deliver industry-specific solutions across sectors such as finance, defense, shipbuilding, energy, and aerospace, in addition to manufacturing.
Miso Information Technology is also taking an aggressive approach to global expansion. Chairman Ahn emphasized his strong commitment to overseas markets, stating, “We have been preparing for global expansion for the past three years, and those efforts are now taking concrete shape.” He noted that the company is already making progress in Southeast Asia and plans to enter the U.S. market next year.
“Healthcare requirements are high not only in developing regions but also in advanced economies,” Ahn said. “We expect our overseas business to generate tangible results starting next year.”
