SuperbAI’s Data Selection and Lightweight Fine-Tuning Technologies Registered as Patents in Korea, the U.S., and Japan

SuperbAI has completed patent registrations in Korea, the United States, and Japan for its AI data screening solution “Superb Curate” and its lightweight fine-tuning technology “PEFT.”

The company announced on the 8th that it will accelerate efforts to strengthen global competitiveness in data-centric AI technology.

Superb Curate is a technology that automatically extracts only the key data that contributes to actual learning from large-scale datasets. It reduces the total data volume by up to 75 percent while improving model performance, focusing on enhancing training efficiency by removing noise caused by unnecessary data.

PEFT is a technology that streamlines and optimizes AI models for industrial environments. It significantly reduces training costs and memory usage by adjusting only selected parameters without retraining the entire model. It is highly applicable to physical AI settings such as robotics, autonomous driving, and edge devices.

Since its founding, SuperbAI has built a data-driven ML Ops system based on the principle that “the core of AI projects is data quality.”

In addition to the newly registered patents, the company is also working to secure rights for ZERO, an industry-specific vision foundation model. ZERO can detect new objects immediately with only a text or image prompt. In Japan, a patent registration decision was made just one month after filing, and priority examinations are underway in Korea and the United States.

Superb Curate, PEFT, and ZERO collectively form a unified technological framework that connects the entire AI development lifecycle—from data acquisition and training to deployment and on-site response.

Based on this foundation, the company has secured a total of 63 global patents to date: 22 in Korea, 19 in the United States, 17 in Japan, 2 in the EU, and 3 PCT international applications.

“Completing simultaneous patent registrations in highly selective jurisdictions such as the United States and Japan demonstrates the sophistication of our technology,” said Chief Research Officer Kim Gye-hyun. “We will continue to strengthen our global competitiveness with a philosophy centered on data quality.”
