Dabeeo wins contract for the development of a microsatellite utilization system in collaboration with KARI… Supporting the enhancement of South Korea’s maritime security

 

Spatial information AI technology company Dabeeo announced on the 13th that it has won the contract for the 'Development and Testing of a Microsatellite Utilization System Based on KSIS Data' project, commissioned by the National Satellite Information Utilization Support Center of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI).

As part of a consortium with LIG Nex1, Dabeeo has been selected as the executing agency for this project and will carry out the initiative from its official launch this month until 2030.

The project aims to develop a KSIS(Korea Small Imaging Satellite System)-based utilization system to enhance South Korea’s maritime security and law enforcement capabilities, as well as respond to maritime disaster situations.

The microsatellite utilization system is designed to provide the Korea Coast Guard with value-added products generated from processed SAR standard video and AIS data collected from the National Satellite Operation Center. The ultimate goal is to establish a maritime security monitoring system that enables high-precision detection and analysis with minimal false detection rates, utilizing SAR satellite data that is unaffected by weather and cloud conditions.

Dabeeo oversees the design and development of the satellite utilization system, which is the core of the project. By advancing specialized technology based on deep learning algorithms for detecting and classifying various objects, Dabeeo plans to analyze SAR satellite data acquired through the microsatellite system and apply it as a fundamental technology for ship detection and classification.

Dabeeo expects that winning this project will serve as a key momentum for driving the growth of its defense industry business.
