Dabeeo develops mobile mapping service for Sungae Hospital, enhancing convenience for patients and visitors
Dabeeo, an AI-based spatial information technology company, announced on the 17th that it has provided its mobile spatial information guidance service to Sungae Hospital in Seoul. This project, supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Seoul Metropolitan Government, aims to create a more convenient healthcare environment for all patients, including vulnerable groups in the local community. With this service, patients and visitors to Sungae Hospital can now easily access comprehensive facility information and utilize location-based navigation services directly from their mobile phones.
Since its establishment in 1968, Sungae Hospital has been a key community healthcare provider, delivering patient-centered medical services for 56 years. Recently, the hospital was designated as a disability-friendly obstetrics and gynecology facility by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, leading to the introduction of customized facilities for pregnant women with disabilities. In line with this vision, Dabeeo developed a mobile mapping service tailored specifically for Sungae Hospital to further enhance accessbility and convenience.
The newly introduced mobile map service provides digital navigation for 25 medical departments, including the Emergency Medical Center and Health Screening Center, as well as 258 inpatient rooms and various convenience facilities across the hospital's main and annex buildings. Visitors can simply scan a QR code placed placed throughout the hospital to access the service instantly—without the need for a separate app installation.
To enhance accessibility for patients with mobility challenges and wheelchair users, Dabeeo has integrated a shortest-route guidance feature that prioritizes elevators and disability-friendly facilities. Additionally, the service is available through the hospital's appointment booking app, further increasing accessibility for users.
This service is designed to accommodate various visitor needs, including first-time visitors unfamiliar with the hospital layout and patients navigating multiple departments for medical check-ups. Unlike traditional physical kiosks commonly found in commercial spaces, Dabeeo opted for a QR code-based service, making it more user-friendly. Given the widespread use of QR codes during the COVID-19 pandemic, this approach is expected to encourage higher adoption rates among visitors.
Dabeeo's digital spatial information guidance service has already been successfully deployed in major department store, shopping malls, large retail centers, exhibition halls, and tourist attractions across South Korea. By leveraging AI-driven spatial digital transformation and digital map technology, Dabeeo meticulously analyzed Sungae Hospital's structural characteristics and user needs to provide an optimized navigation solution.
This collaboration is expected to enhance hospital visitor convenience and satisfaction, while also demonstrating the social value of IT technology in healthcare. Dabeeo aims to expand this service to more medical facilities in the future, reinforcing its commitment to improving hospital navigation and accessibility through digital innovation.
Dabeeo CEO JuHum Park stated, "It is truly meaningful to collaborate with a long-established medical institution like Sungae Hospital in adopting new technology to enhance customer convenience. Moving forward, we will continue to provide specialized spatial information services tailored to hospitals and various other facilities."
