Dabeeo and SOOIN sign MOU for strategic partnership to expand palm plantation business in Southeast Asia.
On the 20th, Dabeeo, a spatial information AI technology
company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SOOIN, a company
specializing in controlled release fertilizers (CRF), for a strategic
partnership to expand the Southeast Asian palm plantation business and promote
smart agriculture. Through this agreement, the two companies will establish a
cooperation model for optimizing palm plantation operations and providing
data-based agricultural solutions, and plan to expand their business across the
Southeast Asian market.
Dabeeo has commercialized the world's first smart farming
solution that uses 30cm-class ultra-high resolution satellite imagery and AI
analysis technology to precisely analyze the condition of individual palm trees
and assess their health. This helps to quickly identify diseased trees and
provide accurate location information so that farms can take appropriate
action. In particular, it periodically analyzes changes in the health status of
trees and changes in inventory to evaluate the effectiveness of measures and
contribute to increasing the productivity of farms.
Dabeeo is providing this solution to companies in Indonesia
and Malaysia, and the total area of the farms operated by these companies is
more than twice the size of Seoul. Based on its successful entry into the
market, Dabeeo plans to establish a base in Indonesia this year and push
forward with its smart plantation business in earnest. In addition, Dabeeo will
expand its existing web-based platform into a mobile app to help field
management teams quickly locate problem areas and take immediate action.
Sooin is a company that supplies controlled release fertilizer
and supports the sustainable operation of palm plantations, increasing the
productivity of palm plantation through balanced nutrition. It is also the only
company in South Korea that has received official permission from the
governments of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to distribute fertilizers,
supplying customized fertilizer solutions to major local palm plantations.
Representative customers include Sime Darby, Tabung Haji, and Felda. Through data-based
optimization of fertilizer use, Sooin has demonstrated the efficiency of farm
operations and is continuously expanding its market share.
Through this MOU, the two companies will establish a
cooperative relationship as strategic partners and plan to expand their
business throughout the Southeast Asian market by combining Sooin's palm
plantation distribution network and Dabeeo's AI technology. The core of this
cooperation is to provide data-based customized fertilizer solutions by
precisely analyzing the changes in tree growth after fertilizer use through Dabeeo's
AI monitoring technology.
Dabeeo’s
Vice President Choi Gyu Seong said, “We will lead the way in making smart farm
operation using AI technology the new standard in the Southeast Asian
agricultural market,”and Sooin's CEO Kim Soo Yong said, “We will provide
differentiated value by combining data-based customized fertilizer solutions
with smart agricultural consulting services.”
