 Kangwon National University Hospital Holds Symposium on “From Connection to Healing: Patient-Centered Digital Health”

The Artificial Intelligence Cancer Healing Center at Kangwon National University Hospital (Director: Professor Kim Woo-jin) announced on the 10th that it held a symposium titled “From Connection to Healing: Patient-Centered Digital Health” on the 7th.

The symposium took place at the auditorium on the sixth floor of the hospital’s Cancer Center and was designed to explore how digital health technologies can be applied throughout the cancer treatment process, as well as to discuss future directions for patient-specific and personalized medical care. The event was structured into two sessions and opened with welcoming remarks by Professor Kim Woo-jin, Director of the AI Cancer Healing Center.

The first session, titled “Personalized Drug Care,” focused on the use of AI and real-world clinical data to predict side effects of anticancer drugs, precision medicine based on drug response data, and practical applications of Personal Health Record (PHR) systems. Speakers included Professor Lee Hye-sung, Kim Woo-rim, Kang Seung-jin, Head of the National Health Insurance Service, former Global CEO Park Kyung-ha, and Lee Jong-geun, Head of Miso Information Technology, who shared insights and experiences from their respective fields.

The second session, “Psychological Recovery Support,” addressed digital therapeutic content aimed at emotional recovery and reducing psychological burdens for cancer patients. Speakers included Professor Lee Hyun-jung of the National Cancer Center, Professor Song Yu-jin of Kangwon National University Cancer Center, Professor Yoo Eun-seung of Korea Cyber University, and Professor Bae Bae-ryeong of Sungkyunkwan University. They presented real counseling cases and results from the application of digital mental health programs.

“AI and digital health technologies should be developed in ways that provide meaningful support to patients throughout their treatment journey,” said Professor Kim Woo-jin. “We aim to contribute to improving the quality of life of cancer patients by building a region-oriented digital healthcare ecosystem.”
